John William Godward, "Youth and Time" Bracelet!

John William Godward "Youth and Time" 1901

John William Godward was an English Painter from the Neo-Classicist era (Neo-Classicism is an Art movement in the early 20th Century with heavy Greek and Roman antiquity influences) Godward led a very troubled life as an Artist. His family disapproved of his Art Career, and with the arrival of Picasso in the Art world, Godward fell out of favor. At the age of 61, he ended his own life, with a note stating "the world was not big enough" for him and a Picasso. Despite his troubled life, Godward created some of the most beautiful paintings of Women I personally have ever seen.

For this bracelet, I really wanted to somehow incorporate the Tiger print that you see in the painting. Lucky for me, Tiger gemstone is one of my favorites, I love their shiny, smooth appearance, and the color looks great with just about anything! I also am a huge fan of Lilac and Lavender, and I was able to incorporate these colors with some Amethyst gemstones, and Lilac colored Czech glass beads. Also on the bracelet are some concrete colored round beads, which I chose to reflect the concrete seen in the painting. The toggle has an antique gold finish which really adds to the feel of the Antique painting. I have priced the bracelet at $50 and you can visit the link to my Etsy shop at the left side of my page, if there is a buyer, I will make some more Godward inspired bracelets! Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by!

Best,
Jessica
